Author Guidelines

1- MANUSCRIPT TYPES ACCEPTED Review articles: up to 10,000 words including references, abstract, tables and illustrations. Original articles: up to 3000-5000 words excluding references, abstract, tables and illustrations and letter to editor up to 1500 words. Papers should present interesting and important developments within the field, original ideas and findings, case studies and service innovations. The paper should be structured to include an structural abstract (250-300 words), introduction (including background and objectives), material and methods, results, discussion, conclusion, conflict of intrests and bibliography.

Authors must declare any sources of funding and potential conflicting of interest, such as receiving funds or fees by or holding stocks and shares in, an organization that may profit or lose through publication of your paper.

COPYRIGHT Notice: Submission of a paper to Iranian Journal of Medical Informatics will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work, not under consideration for publication elsewhere

COVER LETTER: Your cover letter should inform the Editor of any special considerations regarding your submission. 

The previous Editor's and reviewers' comments should be submitted as Supplementary material along with your responses to those comments. Editors encourage authors to submit these previous communications.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, or Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in review policy have been followed.
